Prisoner of Doubt
Like you are on this earth only to suffer Looking for ache to add to your own Escaping the friend with aid to offer Thinking you must live in pain all alone
Only an occasional bask in sunlight In an environment you cannot control Your willful bondage is your plight Life is constant misery without a hand to hold
See yourself from afar like someone else in the room With your true friends, perceive the light of your soul Trust the glimmers of hope--let them pierce your gloom Allow a higher purpose to be your goal
Take hold of arms of mercy so often held out You are worth the gifts you possess--believe you are able Be free from your prison of despair and doubt Partake of the joys that have been set at your table

Well I liked that A _ B _ A_ B writing scheme. It seems the person in this poem is in a upside down world constantly torn apart by their own doubt to do things. Maby a feeling of being all alone is caused by this?

Hey, thanks for your post, it is good to hear from you! I hope you liked my poem. My subject lives in an enviroment which has been difficult to say the least, comparable to none other. I can understand how that would be lonely, can you?
